Ry Cooder, en allant rencontrer Ibrahim Ferrer au début du film Buena Vista Social Club (1999), disait :
Ry : My son Joachim and I came back down here to Havana in March 1998.
We'd been here before about two years ago, recording the Buena Vista Social Club.
I've been making records about 35 years... and you never know what the public's going to go for.
This turned out to be the one they liked best. I like it the best.
One of the great things about that record turned out to be Ibrahim Ferrer.
He'd come in off the street, kind of like a Cuban Nat King Cole.
"You stumble onto somebody like this maybe once in your life. "

Je trouve que la rencontre entre Jackie et Max (Jackie Brown 1997) était aussi une rencontre de ce genre...
Les paroles de la chanson des Delfonics... C'est le cœur de Max qui chante tout au long du film... 😌💗💗💗💕

Odel : I didn’t know you like the Delfonics.
Max : They are pretty good.

Jackie : Want to hear some music~?
Max : Sure~
Jackie : Cool~*
Jackie : I couldn't wait to get home last night and wash the jail outta my hair...
Max : It looks nice~
Jackie : Thanks~*
Max : You never got into the whole CD revolution~?
Jackie : I got a few. But I can't afford to start all over again. I got too much time and money invested in my records...
Max : Yeah, but you can't get new stuff on records...
Jackie : I don't get new stuff that often...
Max : This is pretty~*
Who is this~?
Jackie : The Delfonics~*
